📋 How to Measure Respiratory Rate

Position the child: Have the child sit or lie comfortably in a relaxed position. The child should be calm and not talking or moving around.

Observe chest movement: Watch the child's chest or abdomen rise and fall. One complete breath = one rise (inhale) + one fall (exhale).

Start the timer: Click "Start Timer" above and count each complete breath for the full 30 seconds. Don't tell the child you're counting as this may change their breathing pattern.

Enter the count: Enter the total number of breaths you counted in 30 seconds below.
